Vortech Modules

This raises some concerns for me from a customer support perspective.

Due to the possibility of an infinite combination of firmware versions and potential hassles I think I want to flash all of the Vortech modules to the new firmware prior to shipping.

This will ensure customers will be able to update their vortech pumps if required right out of the box.

For those of you waiting on your modules would you object to an extra couple days of testing to ensure things go as smoothly as possible?

is it the firmware on the modual or on the pump driver? I tought it was the pump driver... to witch the clinet might already have.

Based on Mattias statement, I believe the firmware on the Vortech PAB module needs to be flashed to version 1.01, and the Profilux Control Software needs to be 5.04 to allow for the ability to upgrade the Vortechs.

Once those conditions are met, you can perform a firmware update to the Vortech to support the full range of functions.

This sounds like a great idea. Get the newest firmware loaded up (even if a bit of a delay) so we can then be ready to update all our Vortechs when the GHL module arrives.

I don't want to sound like an alarmist, I just want to make sure you guys get a trouble free introduction to Vortech control :-)

I have the facilities here to do it quickly, I'm building up a "test station/flash station" so I can do them all as I fill the orders. They will be filled in the order they came in to keep it fair.

thank you for the understanding!

Sorry it lookes like all 3 have to be updated in order to make it work, i wass just looking at the pump side :)

This is ONLY about having the ability to update Vortechs with firmware for older Vortech models and of course the plus side is if Ecotech ever release new firmware you have an easy path to update the pumps :)

With the latest pump models the vortech module already plays nice with the pumps :)

I'm not seeing profilux control 5.04 on the profilux website :sad2:

The vortech module needs to have the PAB firware 1.01? It's not specific to the vortech module?

Sorry, this is uber confusing!:fun2:

And they don't come packaged with a PAB cable...that's just wrong! I pay that much for the device, and it doesn't ship as a complete package? Now I'm just mad.

Hi

alot of confusion here!

I couldn't react earlier - we slept here in Germany when this discussion came up

Summary:
- the firmware of the WWD based MP40w have to be at least 3.1 and in case of EcoSmart based pumps (MP40wES, MP10wES) 1.5 or later
- the firmware upgrade can be done with ProfiLuxControl 5.0.4.0 or higher and VorTechController firmware 1.01 (available until this weekend)

Yeah, it's not there. It says its available until this weekend. Did he mean it isn't available until this weekend?

with respect how is GHL or Aqua Digital supposed to know how longer lead you require? All you need is a CAT5E or higher cable.

I am sure you would not wish to be charged for a lead that is too short for your needs ;)

Not to be a rude customer, but I defiantly would rather have a short cable, than no cable...lol

No biggie.

Thanks for the quick replies once again! I swear this is the best customer service out there. I have never waited more than a few hours for ANY issue with ANY GHL product. Thanks!

Then the price of the unit goes up by $15 for a cable many would not require. :(

In some instances its best for the user to decide on some aspects of their system and not for us to decide and charge for you ;)

Just an FYI
ALL PAB devises are shipped without PAB cables from GHL for this exact reason, however on packs we include 2m FREE as a get you started. Sadly it is not economical to carry this through to further accessory purchases

Thanks for clarifying we can use CAT5E cables for the PAB connection, I have tons of them laying around the house in all lengths.
