VorTech on a 180 LPS softy...how many?

Most of the tanks that use the Vortech are SPS and without sandbeds. I have a 180g with softies, LPS, zoas and mushrooms along with a 1-2" sand bed. Currently I have a Seio 1500 and 1100 and it is not enough flow.

Hi Allykahn,

We have plenty of customers that are using our pumps on LPS tanks, nano tanks, softy tanks, etc. I recommend two pumps for a 180gal tank, one on either side of the tank. You'll probably be happiest running them around 50-75% power.

You'll be very pleased with the broad, gentle flow these pumps put out, it's really quite ideal for LPS and soft corals.

I will most likely have to start off with one pump due to the cost.

The returns on my tank are 2- 3/4 sea swirls in the middle of the tank (couldn't really put them anywhere else due to the Megaflows). With only one pump, is the side still the best mounting option?
