Walt's Official A. thiellei Page

Don't give up so fast on pairing them,my pair bickered all the time in the qt(I thunk they were there about 6 weeks)but when I moved them to the 125 gal they are doing great. No more split fins or biting and they stay pretty close to each other but they are not an obvious pair yet.

I don't think he is giving up. But is proceeding slow and cautiously. Cause these are rarer and hard to get I would be treading lightly as well. I hope you have good results and they pair up and eventually breed for you.

No. I gave up on the second pair. I put the one I knew was female with a small misbar ocellaris that she was with before. Less than twelve hours later they were inseparable. I found another ocellaris this evening that looks exactly like the one in the wild pic. Its in quarrantine and I'm looking forward to the pairing. I'm happy to have one pair and two half-pairs.

now i am wanting a pair of these more and more now. not like i have enough clown pairs. hehe
mind if i ask what vendor you got yours from Walt?

I have slipped up and mentioned the vendors a couple times between all the boards I frequent. So you can probably find it if you put a little effort into it.... but in retrospect, I'm not sure that is the best option for me, for this ultra rare fish or if the vendors particularly want it known themselves. I had to do a lot of networking, and pestered people to keep it in the back of their minds that I was passionate about getting one...two... Etc. You've gotta work for it at least a little. After all I'm taking these things off the reef for the sole desire to produce them in captivity so they can stay ON the reef. If I can breed them, I can sell the babies back to the vendors who supplied them. If I can do that, you and every other person whom has asked to buy them off me or buy babies or give up the source can buy them from the same sources without a single one being taken off the reef.

Thanks Shaun.

Not much new to report except that the two recently formed thiellei/ocellaris pairs are getting along well.

There have been no new developments since the move in April.
I snapped a few quick pics for you this morning before I left. I will post a few up later.
