I bought a LTA and he's been having troubles settling in he will stick one place for a while then let go and move he is bleached maybe I was thinking he was just a whitening b.c he was still very sticky I have lots of light and a clown that feeds him I also have another green carpet that has been in the same spit since u put him there and that was like almost a year ago now the carpet was bleached to but isn't anymore

Do you have a shorter version of that video? 10 minutes is a bit long.

From what I can tell, this is a 90 gallon tank -- appears to have to have fairly high bio-load.
What lights do you have?
What are your parameters? (( with numbers please ))
How long has it been set up?

The LTA is bleached, they just don't whiten, they bleach. Was it purchased that way, or did it bleach in your tank?

Also, IME, S. Haddoni (( your "carpet" )) and LTAs don't mix, to the point of one or both anemones not settling it.

Also, how deep is your sandbed? And what flow do you have?
 
Bio load is pretty low turn over rate of 10x an hour 3 power heads pretty deep sand need 160 pounds of sand prolly about 3 4 inches thing maybe more in some spots my numbers I'm not to sure since I don't have a test kit and I bought the the LTA like that and I know it's not bleated but has become bleached at some point the green carpet has been fine though it's been growing and not at the moment I'm at work i can for sure get one he has some what settled down now but when my power heads turn off the current kinda moves him like he's not stuck down


I have 2 250w MH with 4 ho t5 antic. And yes it is a 90 gallon the MH are kn from 12 to 7 and the antics are on 930 to 930

Had. Numbers checked everything is perfect ph is 8.2. Salinity is 1.026. Ammonia is less then .1 ppm nitrate is under 1ppm I think my temp might be hitting 83 f when my MH come on could that be it he has now stayed in the same spot for a couple of days his base/foot isn't always seated though kinda strange I thought any ideas how I could get my temp down I don't have a lid would that help keep some heat front entering the tank?
 
How long has your tank been set-up ? IMO those number are not all perfect. With any amount of ammonia or nitriate, I would guess something has changed in your tank or it just hasn't finished cycling yet.

Well it's been set up quite a while with fish and coral and everything. It has prolly been about 7-8 and prior to that with the live sand and rock and a single fish for about 2 months seeded it with the sand from a small tank I had set up b4 to see if inliked the hobby b4 spending the money on lighting and filtration I have reasonlu added some live rock I'm thinking I'm going throughout another small cycle But my temp still kinda worries me
 
Adding the live rock was likely the cuase of a mini cycle if the rock was uncured or spent some time out of water. I would suggest few 10% water changes over a week or two to help get rid of the ammonia and nitrite. Once the parameters return to normal he should start to settle down. Hopefully that won't take too long

You could try raising your lights a little higher from the tank and placing a fan to blow air across the top of the tank to help reduce the temp.
 
Do u think a lid would help any? And the rock was sitting in water no light though not yo metion all the coraline that was on the rock has like disapered
 
Having a lid on your tank will add to the heat. Your lights will warm the glass which will warm the trapped air between the lids and the water which will increase your water temp some more. You will need air movement between your lights and your tank in order to help cool it
 
That anemone is bleached, there is no doubt about it.

Do you know what lights it was under? Did you acclimate it to your lights? I prefer to use window screening -- 3 layers b/t the tank and the lights, supported by egg crate. I would remove a layer every 5-7 days.

Given time and the proper conditions, your anemone can recover.

Ok well now he seems to be really small ad sucked up tenticals are short he's Been eating dunno what else I should do or is this a good sign his base looks like it's nice and stuck to a rock
 
Did you do the water change as recommended and then recheck the parameters? Did you use Todd's suggestion about adding some filter for the light? Obviously very bleached and can't really process light. I would try some target feeding with very small, raw, meaty items like shrimp, krill, etc.
 
I have a pic to post of it all shriveled up how do I do that and yes I had done water changes an re checked every thing is ok I have been spot feeding it to now. I notice it shrivels up really small and then expels this slime like it's trying to poop not sure b/c I have seen no constant behavior
 
If I understand you correctly, you are target feeding. How often and how much. If it's shriveling up and expelling every time then cut back ... you may be overfeeding. When you write "how do I do that" I assume you mean filter the light? People put several screens over the top of the tank where the anemone sits and then remove them, one-by-one every couple of days. So, say you layer 4 screens over where this nemmie sits, leave it like that for several days and then remove one... leave it like that for several days and then remove another. Watch how the anemone reacts. If it shrivels up or hides, then it's too soon. Put the screen back over it and wait another couple of days.
