Wanna be Mini ocean....

very nice tank! mp40 would be a great investment for your tank, 2 maybe even better, but if you want to keep sps i say one mp40 at one end and maybe another strong powerhead at the other end. Also make sure you have enough light and stable parameters. I just starting corals but have researched and been on forums for some time and so far with my experience birdsnest is a great beginner sps.
On my 46 bowfront i have a mp20 on reef crest and have great flow and my corals are loving it. So the mp40 should work

as far as fish selection i say a couple of nice wrasses would add a lot of movement and color to the tank, so long you have a lid on your tank so they dont jump

Here is a small wish list for corals.

Pearlberry
Hawkin’s Blue Echinata
Bird of Paradise
Frogskin Acropora
Purple-tip bottlebrush

Does anyone has personal experience with them or info?

i just noticed tonight that my cleaner shrimp is prego. Sad thing is that i dont have a mate for her.:sad2: .. Should i find a male? If so can get another cleaner shrimp and it would change to a male like clowns?

Its been a over a year since I last posted on here. i had some personal issues to take care of but now they have come and gone. In the last few month I have started to get back on track. About a month ago I lost more than half the corals I had growing and bought since the start of the tank. The problem was due to my heater dial being pushed up to 95 degrees. The tank was really warm by the time I realized what happen over night. Right now I’m in the process of restocking my tank again. I also in the past week I finally reach one of my personal goals for my tank. I bought two Vortc MP 40 ES for the tank. One will be here by Monday and other will be following right behind. I also have added a little more LR in the past few months too. Soon I’ll be on the hunt for some new SPS for my tank. Right now I'm in the middle of doing interceptor for my whole tank. Next I'll be going after the small starfish and aiptasia breakout that just started too.

Today my first of two vortech mp40 es came in the mail today. Man it's one of the best purchases I have made for my tank. Super quiet for it does and the flow pattern of it is the best. I programmed it to EcoSmart Nutrient Transport Mode (NTM) mode. Just two MP 40s will work great on my 6ft long tank. During the short plus period on the NT mode all the fish like being close to the MP40. My Lubbock fairy wrasse just loves playing in the flow.
