Want to confirm that these are red bugs. Pic included

You changed your hobby experience from last night ;) I have more than what your experience said last night.

Basically your saying Duston Dorton, myself, Mark...Salty..and HUNDREDS of other reefers are just under a false delusion that red bugs are harmful...??????

Its one thing to say mine look good so I'm not treating, and a complete other to say you guys are crazy for treating...its your fault not the bugs....these bugs are harmless...

Or am I misunderstanding your case here...? Doc

Yes you are assuming I never said anyone was wrong , I never mentioned names, I never said everyone is liveing under false delusions....

You did .

If you would read my prior posts I am only providing my side . Like it or not .........I never said don't treat......I said look further as my experience is not bad like everyones . Am I the only one living with rb's ............No .

I said its your choice .....As you have already made it clear in another thread you want to do a trade .........Hmmm why are my corals that appealing even with red bugs? You said so yourself red bugs or no red bugs. So all my proof is in my pics. I have yet to see any of yours anywhere.

Be yourself and think for yourself thats what I am saying . Don't treat just because joe smo says itts the only way and that their acros will die or go brown ..

Now this I understand!

Yes I have under 7 years over 6 years of heavy reefing...may be less than you, that was not my point..its just that I know for fact that red bugs hurt MY acros....it was not my lack of knowledge there of....

I posted lots of pics just today....under Doc's set up thread...and under the acro addict ...

Ya man I asked if you wanted to trade because your corals do look good....you have evidently alot of good skills and husbandry....Trying to compliment ya man,...not degrade you...I was just trying to understand what you are saying...

Thank you for correcting me...

Doc

Yes at that time I had a very very heavy infestation I mean bad . But my tank was low flow ,lower light ,dirty water, not many acro crabs, swings in params and a few other things that are not the case now .

So after I got rid of them the acros did respond with a bit more PE. Never any color enhancements but those other factors were the casue which meant I was the cause.

No harm. I never took any of you comments as degrading . The fact is I have tons of people the request frags knowing about the rb's or AEFW( fingers crossed and have been clean for a few months) . I take it as a compliment. I know I was never interested in infested frags .

Speaking of AEFW here is a pic of a very nice gem which was attacked by the AEFW's( which without a doubt cause physical and or mortal damage if not taken care of ) I wish I could see a redbug under a mesoscope eating fleash or killing zoox but I haven't .If I did see it that would be my proof.

I am always for making my tank better or getting better colors( could really care less for growth as I am not looking forward to weekly trimmings ;) ) But IMO the difference I would see would be very little if any.I also feel that my recent dosing of Tropic Marin coral elements has given me more results than the RB treatment would . I have explosive growth and awesome colors since I started those. But thats another topic.

You state your RB experience as FACT and so why can't my experience support what I claim as FACT ?I am genuine and so is my dedication towards my tanks and inhabitants.

Really I would like to know what or what combo of things having to do with my tank that attribute to my sucess with living with these bugs. I can say out of the whole time I have had them the last 6 months their population isn't as large as it was with previous experiences. I don't know why but it could be a combo of a few things or 1 key thing.

All I know is my corals are healthy and I am the happiest that I have ever been with my sps tank in terms of everything color growth ,ect.

Very understandable....

I will take it as fact that your red bugs are doing little to no damage....

I feel the same too, as in colors are my target...not growth....

Never had them flatworms...looks like a nightmare!

No quick treatment for them...well yet....a resectable reefer just posted on wanting to collect a few for his studys I presume,....I doubt its because he eats flatworms for breakfast...

"I am genuine and so is my dedication towards my tanks and inhabitants. "

I agree friend! You never knew it but I've been watching you and others for along time now...just finally joined and got to talk with reefers I have respected for years now...you are one of them...sunnyX....and the list goes on.....

So whatever your doing is good! Keep up the hard work!

Oh never tried this product you spoke of...any info on it would be appriciated....is it trace elements...? Is it similar to sea chems reef plus?

Doc

:D Thanks .

As for the flatworms I have only used Tropic marin pro coral cure to treat for them .I was the orginal person who had first sucess that posted about flatworms .This is before any etailer in the US was able to get it . Only reason I tried it was because it spoke of sps and flaworms+ their eggs. Well that and TM has a very good name for themselves and I doubt they would ever put anything out that wouldn't work as claimed.

It was that experience which led me to start using the new coral elements. I never realy found much info about the elements till now . All I knew was the contents it clamied to have on the bottle.

Here the new info I have found . I like it cause I have notice major differences due to using them . I have a thread somewhere around here showing the color changes and growth in short time frames.

COOL! Thanks for the info!

I'm a very practicle reefer...keep things simple....I add no additives other than sea chem supplements, and selcon....

Been reading a bit about zeo though....just reading.....never just jump on a bandwagon too quick...

But I'm very interested in trying after study of course this product....

Your sure no idiot who will dump any ol' Captain Harveys indian elixer into your tank.....so I will take you personal experiences to heart....

Thanks again Friend!
Doc

My names actually Jeremy
My friends all call me Jerm, or mostly Doc

Jermey I am the same . I have never used any supplements out side of ca, alk and mg. I have been following zeo for a long time and I have and am following polyp labs and prodibio stuff. All of these systems have gotten me to look into our oceans closer . I am now taking major intrest in bacterias and there effects on corals and the food chain. It has gotten deep enough for me that I am catching onto all these systems very well eventually I want to culture my own captive bacteria.

As for the difference between the sea chem you mention and the TM elements I have no clue and have no knowledge of what is in sea chems .

As for where to get it I have no clue like the TMPCC I got I get my elements from my LFS which is a distrubutor for TM.

Thanks!

I too am following that same set of new (well somewhat new) philosophy.....havn't taken up camp with em' but they sure got me listening!
