Bringing this back from the dead to see if anyone (especially in the 'cuse area) has any photosynthetic or easy NPS gorgs doing well, other than "gary's gorg."
I have three frags of purple. Just fragged and giving them some time to see how they will do, as they were battling aptasia for a space to grow for a while. Once I mount them they will be for sale. PM for more info. I got tons of the "Gary" brown/tan type too for sale.
I have had success with both muricea elongata (orange sea rod) and pseudopterogorgia bipinnata (purple sea plume). Neither are as dazzling as your average NPS gorg, but they're easy to care for. If I can keep them, anyone can.
Unless you can find gorgs locally, I highly recommend getting them from www.sealifeinc.net. Great stuff, great prices. That's where both of mine came from. The only drag is that you'll need to pay for express shipping... but that's easy enough to do.
