a few new pictures...again the cool ones of the tank, maybe water test and vortech will be this week....but here is 1 of 2 20lb bags of live sand for the new tank...and my new return pump, its a lot heavier then a Q1 4000.

good deal i am glad to hear it...i am hoping for over 800 gph with it...hope thats enough flow...i might have it so there is 600 gph to the skimmer section and 200 gph to the fuge. or maybe a bit more to the fuge not sure yet.

I also have a 4000HH. It does run quiet, but very hot. Almost cant touch the bottom of it. Wouldnt want to use it internal thats for sure. Youd have an always on heater.

well that sucks because its going in the sump lol i was looking at the mag pumps but was told they run hot...i thought these were better...well guess i will have to keep the fans on high! i was just about to post on your page...hows the build coming?!

I will probably put a little update up tomorrow. Got the CL plumbed and leak tested. And got most of the plumbing in for the overflows. Then had a small issue with my Dart CL pump. But they are sending me out a new one Monday covered under warranty.

well then again...i might have my acrylic guy come over and drill a hole in the return section of the sump and i could just run some pvc from the bulk head to the pump on the side of my sump....but it looks so pretty the way it is lol. Do you think it would cause heat issues? the skimmer pump will be the only other pump in the tank. I have no clue how hot that gets because its underwater. Guess thats something to think about.

Since your sump is acrylic I would just drill it. It easy to do on acrylic. Even if it was glass I would still drill it. I was just checking my HH pump now and I cant even keep it in my hand for to long before its to hot to hold. I have quite a few small pumps in my sump now that feed the fuge, frag tank, stock tank, and UV. Those will all be gone and an external pump with a manifold in their place. And with the CL on the new tank Ill be dumping all the powerheads in the old tank. Dont need all that extra heat in the tank here in AZ. And my electric bill will appreciate it too.

thanks i can't wait...and here is something i made today...just some ply wood with brackets to mount to the back of the stand, with some padding for the dart....i just gotta place it so i can maintance it if i need to.
