Watch those temps

dgodwin offers a great link there. The take home message Mike is that when the dewpoint is high, evaporation is low. And since a vast majority of the heat that leaves our tanks does so through evaporation, when it's rate is low, the tank temp will tend to rise AND be much more difficult to cool.

For example, on saturday when my in-room dewpoint was about 55f and the air temp was 70f my tank was 80f at lights out. Yesterday when I measured my in-room dewpoint of 62 before lights out and the room temp was still the same (70f) the tank had crept up to 83f. Even air conditioners can struggle when there's this much humidity

Yikes! Just checked the forecast, a dewpoint of 68 by midnight! Nights like these I'm glad the AC is in my bedroom with the tank, at least I can sleep.

:D There's a guy at my work who has the philosophy that women should be responsible for putting the seat down when they want to use it. He is divorced...

Rightly so, I'd say! :D

;) He also leaves his lunch dishes in the sink and refuses to take care of them. After a couple of mass warning emails I now throw out any dishes that are left in the sink longer than a week. Especially since they can wash them right there with the dishsoap or they can walk across the hall and put them in the dishwasher. Not my job... It gets pretty silly when there has to be papers all over an office of grown adults warning to not flush paper towel or to please take care of your own dishes. I know those signs get completely ignored so I warn in an email and then act from there.

 :eek2: I think us guys are in trouble.

I don't get the whole toilet seat thing. Learn to cohabitate or pee outside!!! My mom taught me to put the seat down. Not puting the seat down is like not turning off the water after washing your hands or not turning off the stove after you cook something. Make it a habit and DO IT!!!

PS- my balls are in my possesion.

I would hope not only is the seat being put down, but the lid being closed as well, and preferably before you flush. I'm not sure how true it is, but as a child I was told that flushing with the lid up is the equivalent of the toilet sneezing - small droplets from the bowl get all over the place, like possibly your toothbrush if it is out in the open.

Even if this isn't true, I don't want my dog drinking out of the open toilet which is enough reason for the males in my house to shut the toilet willingly.

All of this toilet etiquitte discussion just shows that this group will argue about anything and discuss it till your ears fall off. What was this thread about again? Temperature, I think.LOL

royal flush

royal flush

we have kids. Whether or not the seat is up or down I'm just happy to get a flush (or multiple flushes) 'cause I hate working the plunger and please replace the TP if you use it all up :mad2:

Yes Tom but it's all related you see... as a person's body temperature rises (whether from activity or irritation) it can raise the temperature of the room therefore necessitating the use of the a/c. :D Besides... Gary started it. :p

I actually turned off the a/c and opened up the windows. Ahhh fresh air. They're saying this weekend will be hot and humid again though...

Heh, yeah a couple good nights there, but the humidity is back tonight. Tomorrow and tomorrow night will be atrociously hot...
