How long before it comes out? it's been a week and he's very shy. I have not see it eat but the tank is full of pods and small shrimps. He's got a cave on the back side of the tank. Hard to see it.

Move quietly, and feed a little flake that will waft about the tank, then sit back a distance. They start out shy, then, if they find no predators or frightening things, they become full of swagger and come out to watch you. Mine disappeared when I added a rabbitfish to the tank [large] and I thought he was dead. When I finally took the rabbit back to the lfs, about a week went by and then back came our yellow watchman. He bosses everybody on my list, occasionally nips a tail, but nothing serious.

cool, I'll try to target feed it, my fish stock is a cowfish, sailfin tang, two percula, one black ora clown, two clown gobies and two black mollies

I've 2 and both took about a week and once they find a home they will pretty much settle there and comes out for feeding and other times they just poke their head out. They eat all the frozen and pellet I thrown in there,
