Water Changes for a 1.5qt Pico

Anyone have any idea how much and how ofter I should do a water change on my 1.5qt pico reef only tank? It is cycling right now. I have to inches of live sand and some live rock. I was planning on changing about a turkey baster full a day and replacing with salt water from my established 100 gallon tank.

Why would you not use fresh saltwater?

I could use fresh, I was just thinking my established tank may have better established water bacteria than the pico

Water changes are done for chemical stability. So how long does it take for your water to degrade and how much water is needed to maintain acceptable quality? Only water testing can determine that.

If its still cycling I wouldn't do any changes. Let the nutrients build up and fuel the bacteria so they can establish, once it's done, replace all of it, you have a small enough volume. As stated above, the bacteria are in the sand and rock, not the water column, so you wouldn't do any harm at that point. I would just keep up with the top off until the cycle is complete.

This tank is just barely over a 1/3 galon lol what are you putting in it like what coral this is so small lol sorry know I'm not answering the question but the size of this thing is baffling to me.
