Water quality and r/o

Anyone know what kind of tds we get from Vestal water?
I'm trying to figure out what type of R/O DI unit to get. (Will probably get the TDS meter when I get the unit)
I've always heard that our water was pretty crummy... correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding was that really bad water needs more stages than "better" source water.

Can't tell you about Vestal water Maybe SPN or frankandmaura can ring in. But I will say that for me it all starts with a good RO/DI unit and 0TDS water.

You want to get the best water quality you can. I had to change my filters already as I was up around 2TDS on my meter. Some people say that might be OK. But I changed mine and plan to do so at 2TDS. But then I'm very picky.. LOL

Definitely get the TDS meter when you get the unit. Probably cheaper in the long run. I went with the filter guys. I purchased the Ocean Reef +1 5 stage unit. Glad I did this unit kicks butt...
