Water storage tanks?

I want to diverge away from the bulky Brute cans for water storage.
I've tried to find some tall narrow rectangular poly tanks (such that I can install bulkheads/valves at the bottom) and can't find any.

I found these:
http://www.tanksforless.com/p/1459/...6m555krx0gEZeBCNZ-0cBBlpJbmfCcEhs2BoCYDrw_wcB

but they're still a little large on the diameter side for what I want. 12" diameter would be optimal, with 40-60gal capacity.

Anyone have sources?

Also not looking to break the bank!!!!!!

USplastics should have what ever you need. They are a tad pricey but worth it IMO.

I think I paid around $200 for my 30g(ish).

Custom plastic tanks like this are not cheap. Not sure your budget but if you think you will find one under $100, you will not.

You realize the one you posted will cost you around $170 shipped? Shipping kills this for you.

Problem is if you want it to fit through a doorway in your home your limited and will pay some $$ for anything over 100g. I purchased 2-330g containers that use to hold honey for my storage tanks. 30$ each but I had to put them in my basement before the floor joist went down, only way they come out now is I cut them into pieces. Freight will also kill you on some of these containers

www.tank-depot.com has a huge selection as well. As others have said, it's the shipping that's the killer. This company has several locations in Florida so you may get lucky and be able to pick up.

On Amazon you will only find 55g drums more than likely. Food grade plastic is what you're looking for

If you have the room a used food used only ICB totes armrest nice and come in 150g varieties (caged or not) typically for less than 100$

try ebay, search for "water storage tank"
this is where I got two 75 gal tanks for my mixing station

yeah, shipping is rough
the 75 gal tanks were $115, but shipping brought them to $200

I REALLY don't want to do the brute can thing again.

Guess I'll run to Tractor Supply and see what they have.

^^^Nothing worth a darn.

I went around and around like you are because I'm frugal as hell.

In the end, I just accepted the fact if I wanted something this specific it was going to cost.

Keep an eye on Craigslist. The narrower rectangular ones are very commonly used for car wash guys and boat wash guys. I'd bet if you search Craigslist in your area and surrounding areas you could find them..

Seach:
water storage tank
car wash tank
holding tank
water tank
etc.
While you are opposed to the brute idea, how about 55 gallon food grade poly drums?? I used those for a couple years before switcing to 100 gallon holding tanks. Those worked great and bulkheads can be installed in those without an issue. Those are usually very easy to find as well and they have nice lids too. I find my original 55g food grade drums on craigslist for arout $25 each.
This was my original RODI and mixing tank setup. Everything was hard plumbed as you can see.

Yeah I also found a used pepper drum that held greek peppers, 55 gallon, way back in the day. Never did get the pepper smell out of it despite bleach soakings, etc.

Still as big or bigger than the brute I was using as well. I have a boat in the garage now so space is even more at a premium than it used to be, haha.

Good idea on craigslist.

You can always use muratic acid to clean them. That should remove any remnants as well as smell from whatever was stored in the drums or barrels.

I like the horizontal ones. Just depends on the location you plan on using.
Mine are the 60g ones from our local Tractor Supply.
