Gonna start up again. My rotifers crashed, ordered from reeds but for some reason they did not survive. Got another order but population is down but there are roti's . Have parents with a S. Gig now, they love it. Will post pictures of the babies from the first batch. Almost an inch big for being 5 months old today.

Here's pic of parents with their S.Gig and a picture of baby clown. Sorry for quality of pics. Anemone is under a 20000k Ushio bulb is bleached but is starting to come back. Tentacles are sticky and is feeding. When food placed on him he has a QUICK response time in folding over his food. More pics or video to come. REEF1589 WHERE ARE YOU. YOU ARE MY ONLY HOPE!!!!

Thanks, Very interested in clownfish breeding. Use to breed Discus fish and found that I was( in my mind) more interested in keeping the various discus strains pure but liked the different color variants just like clowns.
Also want to try to raise babyclowns like Jack Wattley did with baby discus raised away from their parents. At first people thought Discus could not be raised away from their parents. Now with babyclowns it is said that babyclowns need live food as their first food, why can't something be done about this?
Well, this time took the whole rock the parents laid eggs on. As of now it is lights out and a air stone by the eggs on a very low current. With a low beam flashlight I now have 2 that I saw swimming. Hatching tank had rotifers in it and earlier today changed out 3/4 of the water and replaced with water from parents tank. Rotifer count looks good only thing is the eggs are 6 days old but at a temp of 84 degrees. Removing the rock is alot easier and will return rock to parent tank when all eggs have hatched. I hope by removing their spawning substrate did not mess up breeding cycle but I guess I will see. scsdukefan408

Well gt home from work and I could say definately not good. Majority of eggs turned white. Before work checked on the eggs it looked like at least 50 were going to be good. but to my suprise no. I only have one little survivor hunting his prey. As to causes I am thinking that I should have waited one more day to remove the rock from parents tank, wed. would been day 7. My air flow by eggs could have been higher maybe not sure though It looked like there was enough and some of the bubbles were actually touching them. I really like the idea of removing the spawning site, but wondering if I should go back to the old turkey baster method. Plus the rearing/hatching tank is only 2.5 gallons and the rock fills most of the tank. Any ideas or suggestions?

Do not know how old they are. I bought them as a mated pair from LFS. It did take them 8 months to settle down. They laid more eggs today so I am happy about that cause next week on hatch night I do not have to work. As to raising the fry it has been a challenge. The first few days are most difficult. Did my research on rearing fry online.
