we have drip

30" sounds really cool. Gary, when you say plain-Jane, what are your plans for holes? I'm just curious what your plans are for overflows.

Miracles gave me the runaround when I tried to deal with them myself. I ended up ordering it through ABC Reefs who they consider a dealer. The price was way lower and the communication seemed a little better

When I looked into some rimless tanks for an upgrade a couple months back this was my experience as well. Seems like they almost only want to work with dealers.

i've been lying to my wife about a few inches here or there for years:smokin::smokin:

I just couldn't help laugh at this one.... Taken in the wrong context it sounds pretty funny :lolspin:

Of course. If they undercut their dealers then the dealers won't carry their product and it's easier to deal with one guy in a region than a hundred, plus the stores are left to deal with all the ornery reefkeepers.

I think you'll get a better deal thru a dealer anyway. If you need one in a hurry, probably not the way to go. But if you can hold off, it's been said by many satisfied customers that they DO make an excellent product. I guess it's the same as dealing with a misunderstood artist, or tormented rock star. PITA, but worth it in the end.

bringing those that are interested up to speed:

I'm replacing my leaker with another aquarium of the same exact specs (Perfecto 72" long x 24"wide x 30"high). Transferral of livestock will probably happen in the month of May and (ideally) it will happen all in one day.
I'll firm up more exact times as the ball of wax unravels...

I'd be happy to come as well. But I won't be helpful, I'll just stand around and eat your food, drink your beer and generally be in the way. Let me know if you need me :-)

Depending on when you do this I may have a 100 gallon and a 70 gallon rubbermade tub (just depends on if I get my 210 up first)

thanks to everyone for their concerns

thanks to everyone for their concerns

damn the drip.
I've decided to continue on my original path: SPS aquarium with gigantea anemone with Emperor Angelfish.
Basically, the only thing changing will be the glass box.

Should I start another "new canvas" thread or continue on with the old one?
What should one do with a leaky 220 gallon aquarium.... repair it?

I vote new thread. The reef WILL change. Can anyone trust the old tub? Someone might use the glass and be able to rehab it into something nice. Put her on the forum. Someone might want it. Something's better than nothing.

Hmm... If you do start a new thread I'd at least add a link to the old one in the beginning post as it'd be sad to see the old thread fade off into the archives with all of the history in it. :)

On the 220, my vote is repair whether it's done by you or someone else. Would hate to see the glass get wasted when some silicone and effort could have it good as new again.
