Weird Worm

I just saw a weird worm swimming under my nightlight LED's. It's skinny, white, and about one inch long. It moves like an eel. What could it be?

The term for what you saw escapes me at the moment, but it was the reproductive cycle of a worm. It comes out, swims around, spawns, and is generally harmless.

Thanks guys. It is most def. a Lancelet. The tank has been up and running for more than a year though, and that goes for the rock in it too...

I have a couple of red one's. One swam into a curly cue or another anemone and just desintegrated as it touched the anenome. Some hitchhickers were eating them too..

I myself was surprised to learn how many different methods marine worms have of reproducing. For more info and some photos, I have a section within my worm hitch hikers page if you care to check it out.

Wanna talk about weird. I get home the other day and my Coral Banded Shrimp has somthing hanging out of his mouth, squirming. It is the worm, and he is feeding it to himself. I still haven't figured out if it is cool or disgusting yet. lol...
