Hello, we are new to this sight but we are raising, actully my Bride is raising 2 wild caught seahorses, they have mated once an he gave birth to about 45 fry, unfortunily we were not ready for them, we had been out of town. Anyway, earlier today I was lookiing at sight I have included, it looks like the seahorse I have also attached the info for.

Common Name: Weedy / Common Seadragon

Species Name: Phyllopteryx taeniolatus (Lacepéde, 1804)

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 56 - 65°F (14 - 18°C and its natural diet consists of zooplankton and small benthic crustaceans. Requires a meaty diet consisting of enriched live brine shrimp and/or enriched frozen mysis shrimp, with several feeding per day. Shown here for identification purpose only as the law protects them and even public aquariums must have a permit to import them. Better left in the wild.

There are people who import them legally with paperwork, but as stated above, they require cooler water, lots of room and usually cost more then the average hobbyiests can afford. I have seen them as little as $750, but that was more then 10 years ago, the last time I heard of them for sale (I did not personally see them) they were more than twice that.
