Reef Bass

colors and textures
As you walk by your tank(s), what are you doing quick visual inspections of? What are you excited or concerned about?

For example, my montis are making me smile as they are growing with good color and polyp extension. Seriatopora and Stylophora (StyloFURa!) growing, fuzzy, good color.

I am concerned about the relatively timid polyp extension of my milleporas and prostratas. Just not as furry as they should be.

What has you smiling or frowning?

What makes me happy about my tank is my overall success in the reef hobby my tank will be 2 years old in June and it's doing great. Makes me happy about how much I have learned from the club for my next tank upgrade which will hopefully be starting soon. Also a recent happiness was I finally found a female watchmen goby to go with my male and 3 hours after she went into the tank she was right in the burrow with the male and tiger shrimp. They are now building and bigger home. What make me not so happy is running out of room in my small reef for things and no room in my current residents to put up my 125 gallon tank... great topic Kenny!!

I am currently excited about the expolsion of growth and PE on just about all of my corals, except my AquaSD frag. Things are looking really happy. Another thing that floats my boat is no more bad green algea :)

The two things I am concerned about are the 2 things I have been at war with for awhile. First is juat the over all paleness of my corals and second it the cyano. About once a week I have to suck out cyano that covers about 5-10% of my sandbed. At least it is only on the sand not the LR and not the corals. But i think the cyano is on its way out.

Im happy with my zoa/paly growth. Im not happy and have concerns with my acros. 50% are doing we'll while thr others died. So I went with monti's for now since they are thriving. Ill wait for a year before investing or getting higher end sps. I feel id have better success with a more mature tank.

Excited about Acropora Valida growing, and growing. Took 1st 2 frags off, 3" pieces. Concerned with eternal algae issues, that will hopefully be stunted by recent mangroves added to the refugium.

I'm happy that I just found an expensive zoa that I had recently glued to a rock and had been knocked off by a hermit. So frustrating when that happens!

I'm concerned with my Caribbean blue tang that is messing with one of my new wrasse addition. I just picked up a blue stripe fairy wrasse. Looks like I need to get my hands on a fish trap again and remove the tang

Every time I check the fish room I'm excited about my male cardinal fish mouth brooding eggs. They should be due to hatch sometime next week! I'm also excited about all the new corals and frags that I have picked up so far this year. So far I've had good luck with them all.

I am concerned that I am quickly running out of room in my tanks. Luckily I've already begun the planning stages of an 8 foot tank build.

I'm exited about my a cans, and at the same time concerned because some of them are loosing heads out of the blue and I don't know what is doing that.
All my parameters are good am keeping up with all the water changes
and also the same with my sps's some are growing and really getting some beautiful colors like my millys and some others like my montipora are just bleaching out

Awesome! I love the enthusiasm of our club members, and how many different aspects of the hobby can provide joy.

I'm excited to get my tank up and running!!! I think figured out a way to make my tank fit where I wanted it to, currently I'm bleaching my old dead live rock to start fresh

Hello! I'm excited about learning to dose. It's been a roller coaster with bad tests, bad supplements and a general lack of confidence in what I'm dosing. On the other hand the addition of more Alk has gotten my sps to explode.

I have an amazing acropora spathulata that is doing well, but I'm looking for a place in the tank with a little more light, it's looking a little brown. I can't wait to see it start coloring up. That's it in the upper left.
