ANCHOR ,is sinking fast , and I need some help to keep it going . What can I do to get this club back on track . We don't collect dues , or do any fund raisers , so there isn't any money to pay for guest speakers . I would host a meeting Feb . 28 if I thought there would be a good turn out . My tank isn't ready for a meeting , but I would like to breath some new life into ANCHOR .

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INPUT Ted:(

Ted,

You and I have discussed this at length, so I won't rehash what we have discussed. As we both know, there are plenty of reefers between you to the north and me to the south, so thats not the problem. Maybe what we need is add a twist to one of our meetings as a way to get people interested. One idea we discussed briefly last year was an "on the water" meeting. The snorkel grounds up by you or down here are great fun when the water temp allows.

Hopefully others will chime in with their ideas.

Thanks Jim , I remember we had talked about that before . I know my boat would not be big enough for very many people . may be we can get a few other people with boats to help out .

Ted,
I dont have any great answer but I am willing to help with whatever will get ANCHOR up to greatness. A schedule of events and meetings might help so folks can plan. I just found out about ANCHOR before the Nov. meeting and on the way home from the meeting I was glad to have met some nice people with so much knowledge that were willing to share with a stranger new to the hobby and asking a million questions. Those kind frindshps with people that share the same hobby should kept going.

Just my 2cents

Cricket , Thank you for your 2 cents. We need all the help we can get . I would like to host a meeting Feb. 28 , to try and get this club going again . Ted

What time will the meeting be Ted and can Russ and I come? Also, what's up with Paul lately? Is he still that busy at the store that he cannot make a meeting again? I would hope since the holidays are over it would have slowed down.

Sue , I'm still not sure about having a meeting here . I have to have some people , that will really show up . I will have to see what is going on with Paul . Sue , you know you and Russ are always welcome . I would like to get as many people , as I can to turn out so we can discuss what road we want take , to get ANCHOR going . I would like to know if the majority of the members want a more structured type format . If this is the case , we will need to select officers , and have elections . This will mean more members will have to get involved with running the club . All input is welcome . Ted

Thank you Sue . You have a lot on your plate already with The TBRC . I wouldn't want Russ to get neglected . Ted

Ted,

Just my 2 cents worth. One of the reasons I like Anchor is that we are informal without a lot of rigid structure and rules (had plenty of that for 20 years in the Corporate world).

I guess if the only way we can get more people involved is to go down that road, then so be it. But I honestly don't think that is the problem. But lets discuss this at your place the end of Feb.

Jim
