I am really trying to avoid putting a screen on my tank but I just had my 2nd percula clown jump to his death! Do all clowns jump?
I've never known clowns to be jumpers. What other fish are in the tank? Is it possible the clowns are getting harassed to the point of jumping???

They are the only fish in the tank. I found this guy in the overflow box last week and spent a fews hours trying to get him out of there. This was definitely the male so maybe the female pushed him over the edge
Can I put a different species clown in there with the remaining percula?
Clowns jump and you had forwarning of him trying to leave. No, you cannot put a different species in there.
Check with bradleyj on how to build an effective mesh netting. Don't tell him I sent you!
Yeah, some of the newer products make easy, almost invisible covers. Much better that the old eggcrate and outdoor pond mesh. BRS has some great stuff.
clowns in anemones tend not to jump. lost 1 to jumping and saved the others MANY times being in the right place and hearing the splash. since i got an anemone for them to host, no issues. they never leave it.
