What Color is Your Carpet? {pics please}

There are many species of Carpet Anemones {Stichodactyla} and they occur in an even greater number of colors. To casual browsers wishing to purchase a Carpet Anemone after viewing these beauties- beware: Carpet Anemones have certain husbandry requirements to thrive. Some species of Stichodactyla are very demanding and should only be attemted by experienced reefkeepers. Please post pics of your colorful Carpet Anemones to this thread. I'll kick it off with a pic of one of my colorful mini-carpet anemones.

Yellow Stichodactyla gigantea

Yellow Stichodactyla gigantea

I have 3 of them including the tapetum.

Here's my 3 year old Yellow S.gigantea:

Here is the Pink / Red S.haddoni. I think it is more on the pink side.

Here's my little S.tapetum. It's one sticky little bugger but it doesn't seem to harm any corals as they move around. Very very hardy and prolific.

It doesn't have the green coloration as in Gary's.

Some other colored carpets from another old thread. These are from a Japanese reef store site.

Bonsai,

That Japanese red is really red - very nice carpets.

Very nice color. I've seen a gigantea that color before. Had a chance to pick it up but it didn't look too healthy.

Post more pics of it :D

Great thread... Never knew anemones came in all those colors. I've read that most anemones move around in the tank frequently. It that true of carpet anemones also?

Usually, at least IME once they find a spot they won't move. FWIW both of mine anemones never moved especially the yellow which I've had for a while now. I've moved it around from tank to tank and has always stayed put where I placed it.

The key is probably providing adquate lighting and flow so that they don't try to go higher to get more light.
