Hopefully people like the zoas I brought. Whoever got the space monster, Tubbs mini colony, & nightmares, congrats!

Zero- I brought the Fruit Punch acro, let me know how it turns out for you.

Kodiak,
Thanks! That looks like a cool piece! Doing well so far. Most milliporas I have... all seem to take their time growing. Maybe I don't have them in enough flow or not enough light. My Miyagi Tort grows pretty fast. Maybe it's just reached its critical mass.

Any suggestions for how to "accelerate the growth" on the fruit punch?

Ron

Most of my milli's grow at an average pace compared to other SPS that I have, but I do have one milli that grows crazy fast. It's called Pink Passion and I plan to frag a couple pieces in the near future if you want to try a fast growing milli. I do have a ton of flow in my tank and very long polyp extension, but am still fairly new to this to be able to suggest ways to accelerate growth besides the basic, mount it and dont ever touch it and stable parameters :)

what type of salt do you use? maybe if you change it often enough, you can keep calcium levels enough to keep things growing.

I use coralife marine salt mix and do weekly 5 gallon water changes. Also I got some rainbow zoas from grant at a previous swap that were not doing too hot in my biocube, moved them to my 40 and in 2 weeks they doubled in amount. As of now my biocube is pretty much empty since I put most of my stuff in my 40.

Grant, is it something you want? Will put you first in line if you want one.

Ron, I dont even know what it looks like. I was teasing Cody mostly because he has a lot of really nice pieces. Keep us posted as it grows out. I would like to see what it grows out into.

Just wondering who brought the eagle eye zoas? Broke the small colony in half and saw about 6 aiptasia in the middle :(

Not me! I didn't bring eagle eyes.

That said, I think pests are part of the swap experience. I guess that is why people use quarantine tanks.

It's too bad that i don't know of a dip to take out aiptasia. :)

someone did and even after the bayer dip they were still alive guess i will try the coral RX tomorrow.

Hold on there. None of those dips will actually treat aiptasia. Those are meant to treat "active organisms" like flat worms and red bugs, and pods, bristle worms, brittle stars, and hitchhikers.

The Bayer dip helps with red bugs for sure. You'll have to read online to see how effective it is against other pests.

I always double-dip with Bayer & coral RX.

Aiptasia need manual removal. Those dips don't do anything. If they were effective against aiptasia (also an anemone/coral)... You'd kill your Zoas and acans and such during the dip process.

I know it won't kill aiptasia, tomorrow I will make 2 batches of lemonade, one for me and one straight for the aiptasia :)

Ok, just want to make sure. Wasn't sure if you were kidding there about expecting the dip to work on aiptasia.

Lemon juice... ZZZZAAAPPPP.

Speaking of which, I eventually have to find time to make my aiptasia/majano zappers. Have the parts, just need to put it together.

Of course I knew the dip would not kill the aiptasia, it did however kill a baby brittle star :thumbdown:hmm2:

Yeah pure fresh squeezed lemon juice straight off our lemon tree. I'll have to steal a syringe from my mom though.
