What do you feed a new 10" personifer ?

Did you dip it to check for flukes?

Just try everything you can think of. I've come to realize sometimes particular fish just have a picky appetite (like my wife.) My 9" blueline only ate Mysis the first 3 years. I have a bluespot angel that has only ever eaten flake food from day one. But my other bluelines and bluespots eat anything. My bandit prefers pellets.

I also have a golden angel (Centropyge aurantia) that only ate flake food to start and then took pellets and now eats all sorts of stuff, but sometimes the craziest or most common food items work the best.

It also seems that some of the larger angels take a few weeks until they get their appetite back after being collected, shipped and have acclimated to their new surroundings.

He did not like a black worms but he finish a very large 1/2 lb clams he share it with some of his friends .

Also I gave away my powder blue because it was aggressive toward him.

Great news! I know my fish, especially my meredithis go crazy for clams... they act like triggers when clams hit the water :)

Another problem
He only eats clams and he will finish the 1/2 pound live clams by himself every 2 days but he won't eat anything else .

I am tried to stuff mysis on the clamshell
But it doesn't work.

Anymore tricks

Be patient (I know clams are more expensive and tedious) but he will probably branch out in time. Keep trying other foods every once in a while before you feed the clams, while the fish is still hungry.

may be after six months or so he will 'venture' to new food....keep feeding clam...i don't think money is your problem,so you can easily afford it.....that's a 'once in a while seen'
standard false personifer....

It's not really a major issues it just too much of a hustle to go 60 miles to buy live clams I live in a community that doesn't have a Asian market even though we have 22% Asian population in the community.
Also the clams makes so much mess on the tank. my skimmer filled up in one day and very stinky.

I know I should put a Meredith instead of personifer because most folks her really like latin names :)
hopefully in couple of weeks or months I can find him a female , scribble,Townsend queen and New Caledonia emperor :)

All good ideas to try. Also try blending up food into a paste of sorts, putting into empty (cleaned) clamshell and freezing it. They tend to pick at it by accident and eventually realize it's food. Over time they will take that same food out of the water column.

A regular grocery store should have clams in it's seafood section. They all should have clams & mussels. Have you tried raw shrimp or scallops yet?

I freeze all raw seafood first then cut it up. You might try spot feeding or throwing the clam in front of him so it doean't make such a mess.

I will continue to try frozen mysis in a halve clam shell
He ignore whole shrimp , mussel and scollops
