Thinking of getting out of the hobby. Should I try to sell my entire system all together? I mean everything, coral, fish, controller, skimmer, chiller, plumbing, pumps, MP60 etc... all in one shot????????

I think you would have a tough time getting your investment back, but I'm sure it would be a lot more convenient than parting out.

Always seems when one gets a perfect set up , something comes up or changes that forces sale. thats a shame chuck, awesome looking tank, if you must sell, i would part out, youll get more money that way, not many people looking to spend that much up front. good luck, think things over. sam

Sorry to hear that, but you would probably do better parting it out in my opinion. I know that when I'm not on the road for my job, I'm messing with the tank. My tank is therapeutic for me though. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Chuck if you do decide to get out or take a break,parting out is the best option.money is tight for a lot of people now and parting out allows more people the chance to purchase one or two items.plus you will be able to get more of your investment back parting out.that being said,think it over long and hard before you make your decision.I'm sure you would hate to sell everything only to say to yourself "I should have kept my system".I think you should keep it running,large tanks like yours don't need the constant attention a small tank needs.your tank basically is on autopilot with the controller and you really just need to add water to the top off system,do a water change every two weeks,and feed the fish every other day.that doesn't take a whole lot of dedication.

You just got it up and running and I imagine you have it automated to the point where it is on autopilot...allow it to grow out a little.

Not sure what I'm going to do just yet. It is automated but some things have become a burden. I'm on the road bike everyday and becoming more and more competitive. I'm doing several group rides multiple days a week and doing a race in Arizona October 2nd that I'm training for. Also planning several charity rides all over the state in the coming months. Oh, yes I quit smoking for those of you that knew I smoked. So I guess I'm looking to be more away from home then home and it seems like the tank is going to suffer more and more as time goes by.

I think everyone just is a tad anal on the tanks, I can tell you guys my tank runs solo other than me feeding the fish once a day and checking the water levels every 3 days and I have zero issues. You loose corals( everyone does) and its 50 /50 your fault or not. Or everyone flips out during the summertime because of there electric bill goes through the roof.

You will always wind up selling all your stuff and then buying new crap 4 months later.

I am pretty sure you have a couple of local reef friends who would Tank sit while you are out riding. Hope ya keep her going. Congrats on the quit smoking I know how hard that is.
