What do you want to see on the table?

I am hoping to get lots of neat things for the next raffle and was wondering what you all want to see for prizes. Please try to be reasonable and realize that just because you list it, I can't gurantee I will get it, but I will do my best!!! I am thinking some nice LPS, zoo's and SPS frags already but wanted to gauge interest in dry goods, foods, inverts and other things I am overlooking. Basically, what do you want your hard earned raffle ticket money to be funding? Mike asked for a mermaid....I am working on it!!!

- refractometer for grand prize (lots of chatter about these lately)
- some kent cleaning tools
- yumas are always a hit

I think it would be really cool if you could get some nice zoas.

Also if you could tell us beforehand which prize is which polyp, because it is almost impossible to tell when they are closed.

Surprises are good and all, but I think it would be cool if we knew what zoas we were actually getting.

Thankyou very much for actually doing this

IMO the gift certificates were nice. The gorgonia/sea fans were a nice new addition! oh and yuma are always a hit. Thanks for all the hard work! The raffles have been great. :D

Paul- I know a phosban reactor, a small pump and some media would help any reefer out.

You guys are awesome...This is exactly the kind of responses I was hoping to get... Please keep them coming!!!

This seems like a great idea. Not to expensive, but a great addition to a reef tank. Im still working the kinks out of mine, but very nice prize. Rics and yumas are alwase good. Also, the gorgonians were beautiful and the sally light foots were very cool, a nice switch.

That was my first meeting, but I liked the whole scene. The raffle prizes were great and I liked that you told us what things to not get (dont kill things). As for the raffle I second the phos-ban thing, the gift cert. for the sump was sweet and yuma's rock! Anything alive at this point for me since I have a really naked tank. Thanks to everyone who puts the meetings together and thanks again to kenny and kevin for taking me out to the meeting.

Great job on the raffles!

The plug-in GFCIs would be good for those who may not be able to hard-wire one.

I have a Sonin water alarm that was under $20, I think everyone should have one. It's like a smoke alarm with a sensor pad that you put on the floor near the sump. I got mine through Amazon.

Also a battery operated air pump that comes on it there is a power outage. I saw these at Fish Planet. Another thing any reefer should have.

A QT tank setup, Nitrile gloves, fragging tools.

Second the plug in gfcis, water alarms, battery powered backup air.

Love salt. Always need it. Dig fish and Softies/LPS/SPS/macroalgae.

So pretty much everything.

But seriously, you have done a great job on the raffle, both on the 'regular' and 'grand prize' items.

If there was a wishlist: controllers, refractometers, rare specimens, chillers, fancy lighting, sexy skimmers, etc. You know: The pricey stuff most of us would spring for if we got a bonus but no pending bills... And stuff we could easily barter if it was 'wow, but I have one'. Sometimes the horse tradin' after the win is as gratifyin' as the win itself.

First off, I want to say thank you for the very cool raffle prizes. I am enjoying all of the critters I have won.
That having been said, Here are a few ideas that could possibly be worthwhile.

1. More fish. (Reef safe and invert safe only! And hopefully, peaceful community fish. I love my Fairy Wrasse from last months rafflle.)
2. More cleaner packs. (Not just snails, but also emerald crabs, cucumbers and brittle stars/serpent stars etc...)
3. Soft corals (Sinularia, Sarcophyton, etc... Nothing non-photosynthetic)
4. Test Kits (API are what most of us use, so anything better would be a great learning tool. Besides, $30 kits are out of my price range, but I would love to win some.)
5. The feeding tongs with the clipper attatchment or the "really long turkey baster feeding tool". (I will try to look up the name of the company that makes both of them.)(Seachem?)
6. A refractometer. (Just a cool prize. Maybe do it as an either/or prize with a really nice coral.)
7. Phos reactor witrh pump and media. (Very good idea, Marko9.)
8. Small dollar amount gift certificates. ($10-$25 plus. additives and food are very personal purchases and would be better left to the reefer to pick out what they want. Besides, a $20 gift certificate means someone will buy more than $20 of stuff usually and thus an extra sale for the stores we are trying to support! Win-win situation.)
9. Small light fixtures. ("under $40 fixtures" for: refugiums or pico reefs. Coralife makes some nice ones.)
10. Powerheads. (Everybody wants more flow in their tank.)

I'm sure you are short on time by the time you get the stuff but...

How about little table tents with pic of what is in the bag when it is happy, what you need to keep it (light, tank size, etc.)

for livestock I'd be thrilled to see:

ricordias
devils-hand corals
blastos
acans
favia
serpent or linckia stars
crocea/maxima clams

as far as hardware, I'd like to see:
UV Filters
phosban reactors
and powerheads and pumps

keep up the great work! thanks!!!

You guys are doing an awesome job with the raffle.

I personally would like to see more equipment type stuff and less live fish and fragile items. Zoas, Rics, Mushrooms and Yumas are very cool. PH Meters, temp probes, tongs, magnet cleaners, dry foods, test kits from different makers would be good. The refractometers as mentioned before. Food for thought.

I was hoping not to win the fully set-up pico tank...Transport home would have been a less than fun experience plus I'm maxed out on tanks....Might have been a deal breaker for the wife. Tubs/bags of salt would be good. And when all else fails, gift cards area always welcome.

HAHA, it was. Took out 2/3 of the water and still soaked my seat :rolleye1:.

You have been providing a fun and interesting raffle already.

I think a QT set up for a grand prize would be great. There seem to be lots of people that don't have one yet.

Quality frozen foods such as Cyclopeeze.

Most has been covered above.

Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this.
