What Going On in Your System Today?

Just back from vacation and can't believe 2 of my snails someone wedge themselves between a rock and croacked. RIP guys.

What's going on in your tank?

Mucho Reef

I just moved all three of my tanks, so it was a stressful event. However we went from a 30g to a 45 and a 45 to a 57g so more room is nice. The zoas made the move well but we will see. I have been waiting on a light rail, which will come tomorrow so the 57g has had no light since sunday afternoon when we moved them. I am not too worried, more worried about slowly ramping the light back up (AI LED fixtures). Also this is he first time I have had tanks with sumps which is a whole new world for me, so a lot is going on in my tanks.

All the best for a safe move. Hopefully those peps will wipe out the droids before then, hopefully.

Good luck.

Just removed a bunch of small shells from my tank. As the hermits/blue legs grow, they crawl out of their shells into larger ones I dropped in the tank last year. They were all neatly located in the back left corner of my tank. Amasing to watch these guys.

The zoas I fragged (3 odd ones from a big colony) last night look good, I also fragged various hitchhiker button polyps from other corals so they don't spread and placed them on one rock.

I also moved my cap coral because it's fading out from lack of light now that my sabae is blocking it.

They grow quick and I think mine are breeding.
I keep finding tiny baby blue legs in my tank and my originals are in much bigger shells now.

I got to see my tank today.....cant wait to see it everyday. Hope that day will be soon!

I moved, but havnt moved my tank yet- and now I need to move again, due to new place issues......:angryfire:

Started dosing vitamin c again 2 days ago, bought a suction cup nori holder yesterday and my trigger tore it off the side of the tank, and today I am upping my kalk from 1 tsp/gallon to 2 tsp/gallon because my calcium measured 380.

Doesn't the solution become saturated at 1 tsp/gallon?

Whenever I mix it up I still have powder at that level.

got the tank back in order after power out for 24+ hours due to Hurricane Irene. temp went down to 72, but battery backup and a timer allowed me to run an air pump throughout the outage. all looks good.

I started dosing Kent's Tech M for eliminating bryopsis. Most of that is gone, bought some API AlgaeFix for the hair algae. Bryopsis and hair algae took over the tank since we moved last year.

Water will dissolve about 5.75g per gallon of kalk which is about 2 level teaspoons. There will always be sediment left behind after mixing - that's the impurities.

I have a 10g fish tank in my basement I fill with RO and then kalk. I let it sit for 24 hrs after mixing then siphon off the top gallons leaving an inch or so of water at the bottom so as not to get those impurities. The siphoned water then goes in to my ATO.

Glad your tank made it through the strom.

I bought a purple firefish, and my royal gramma is chaising it all over the tank, and now im thinking of giving away the gramma! Is a bully !

Couldn't sleep lastnight so I got up and scraped coralline off the glass till I felt sleepy again, LOL. I love it on the rocks, but hate it on the glass. Then cleaned all the filters and the HQI lens. zzzzzzzzz.

How bout you?
