2 words (booster pump)
I increased my vodka dose from 3ml to 6ml to 10 ml over the past couple weeks in an attempt to reduce my nitrates. I was getting no reduction at 3 or 6 so Im increasing to 10. I'll does that for a week and test unless I see the white bacterial growth,if that doesnt work I'll increase it to 15ml and go from there.
I will not let the high nitrates beat me. Its personal now! lolz :uzi::blown:
What kinda issue you having? What I mean is why?
Why do I have the high nitrates? I'm not sure. It could be because my rock is leaching ( its what I think is happening) .Other than that Im not sure. Ive got a 1/4 ton of live rock in the system,an ATS thats going strong. I dont think I overfeed (although its possible) but it seems Ive always been fighting high nitrates in my tanks. Now Im determined to get them down to an acceptable level.
If you're carbon dosing and you still have nitrate issues, then you're not dosing enough. You're going the right direction and you've been taking it slow, so just keep going......you'll get there.
Pife, raise that water level to just below that top flange.
