What have you done with your tank lately?

We have had the swaps on a Sunday for a while so we decided to switch it up and have it on a Saturday this time. Hopefully it doesn't bite us in the tail fin.

I appreciate the change...mostly to a weekend I'm actually off some I can come play with the cool kids.

New trickle filter unassembled for the 375 gallon African Cichlid tank:

Wow...I remember you wanting to go in a different direction, but I thought you were wanting to go to anemones or something like that...
African cichlids huh?
What species were you looking at? Why Africans instead of South American Cichlids?

Yes, I have had softies for many years now, they are bullet proof and beautiful. I am bored with them though and really like the acropora dominated tanks. I had considered anemones, but my end game here is to make that tank very low energy, so I will have just the cube tank with the heavier electricity consumption.

I've been back and forth on the 375 gallon, from Tropheus dominated to Frontosa dominated....leaning towards a colony of Lupota at this time, but may change my mind a few times still:) It will be a nice contrast having the long tank kind of low light, low action, then the crayola tank with bright light next to it.

I loved my frontosas. They were basically like stoner puppies. Very chill and relaxed that were always happy to see you. They would eat right out of my hand.

A 375 low light tank sounds awesome. Fresh or salt it just looks awesome in my head. All the pleasant parts of having a large water volume with the bonus of colorful chill fish. Where ever the build thread is, I'm sure to follow.
When Chad said he was adding fresh-water stock to half his store I kind of just shrugged my shoulders; however I find myself browsing that side of his store with a big smile on my face. Some of those fish are just dang fun to watch float around. Lee's store (Corals&more) had a really nice low light tank built as a in-wall display in his freshwater side. The low lights have red high-light T5's that add a really smooth atmosphere to the tank.

Finished up my Apex 2016 control panel.

I can't get the far left hand MP40 controller in the control board. The cord is too short. I'll have to send the dryside to Ecotech and they can double the cable side. Cost $50 plus shipping both ways (unless one of yall done that before) and a week and a half without it. After that I'll be done with this project.

Thanks for the positive vibes, I've taken a lot of grief as you can imagine here on a salty board. The plus is I'll be able to grow acropora in my big cube tank which was always my dream.

I do think the contrast will be cool. I'm also hoping to lower my $500/month electricity bill too:uzi::uzi:
