What In The World?!

A couple of nights ago I discovered a most interesting creature when I turned one of my live rocks over to remove it (while hunting for a mantis). It's kinda hard to describe, but . . . it was a very flat, slimy looking, grayish brown with spots, oblong and approximately 1" x 3/4" and it just sort of slithered across the rock. I looked under the rock again last night and saw it again, partially stuffed into a hole in the rock. VERY weird! Gives me the shivers just thinking about it! Does anyone have a clue what it could be?

Yes, it was probably a polyclad flatworm. They are predators, and while their diets may vary, many of them feed on molluscs. There aren't really any beneficial ones, so you might want to catch it and remove it, unless you just want to keep it in a species tank and try to provide it with snails.

Search for "polyclad" on ReefCentral, you'll probably find some that look like yours.
