What is happening to my fish!

His mouth started opening a few days ago and now it is wide open and he is moving slow. It looks like there is something white hanging from the bottom of his mouth. The rest of his body is fine. Inside his mouth at the bottom is a bump or something you can see.

if he's still eating, then its not lock jaw. You cant move your jaw when it's locked. I'm assuming the white cottony patch on his jaw is what your referring to? Or is that a trick in the camera?

If it is, I would say a fungal infection.

There is definitely something white under his mouth

How long has it been like that. I have a clown that had that happen a couple of times. It went away after a few days in both cases and the clown has been around for several years since then. I wrote it off to the fish nipping at something that didn't want to be nipped at. The white at the bottom of the mouth of your fish would concern me a bit.

His mouth opened a little a few days ago. I just noticed it was wide open today

side view? The white patches are not a good sign.

He died today. Still not 100% sure if he had ich. I added a bunch of clean up crew and the bicolor Saturday. Not sure if he just got stressed and died or it was parasitic. If I have ich in the tank, what should I do? I'm not sure where to go with it now.

Also, I see a bunch of small living white things on the glass today. I think they are copepods. Do I need to control these. I don't believe they are parasitic.

copepods are desirable, but if the fish had ich, you should not add another fish for 72 days.

I took a pic of the clown to my LFS. He said it looks like he had some kind of fungus. Told me to do a 25% water change, sift the sand and see how the blenny does for the next few weeks.

Myth. In fact, studies have shown that garlic can cause serious issues for fish. IIRC, it affects the liver (but don't quote me on this)

Edit: taken from one of my posts a couple of days ago...

First of all, you need to confirm that it is ich. If it is, then you have two choices:

1 - leave everything in the tank, feed well, cross your fingers, and hope that all of your fish survive.

2 - remove all of the fish from your tank, follow the ich treatment protocols listed in the stickies, and leave your tank fallow (fishless) for a MINIMUM of 72 days (some say 76 days)

Over the counter ich remedies like API super ich do not work, nor does garlic, ginger, or eye of newt.
