What is the smallest gig you have seen?

I got one from LA on Tuesday. I picked the largest size they had and got one that is about 5 to 6in. It also was in need of treatment.

I think the prevailing experience is that small giganteas are less likely to survive the infection and antibiotics treatment.

I love how their sizing isn't corresponding with the animals.

Crossing my fingers right now. He's looking decent. Hasn't deflated at all, tentacles have been getting longer and longer

I received two small -- less than 4" -- gigs from Blue Zoo maybe about a year ago and both didn't make it.

I agree with Thomas that the larger gigs seem to deal with stress and antibiotic treatment a lot better than the small ones.

Sounds like yours is doing well. Best of luck!

Hopefully the little guy keeps kicking. I'm trying to get him in my DT before the LA 14 day guarantee ends.

The only thing I have noticed is that it inflates a little more at night.

Could that be due to the light shock from the LEDs?

a lot of my anemones tend to expel in the afternoon hours and inflate back up at night.. a lot of my BTA and carpets do that, at the same time. They tend to look best at night. not sure why

I just got a small gig from LA and it did the same thing I got him 2 days ago and I just put him under a kessil a 350 and he's seems good with only 2 days of treatment

Good to hear nemguy. So do you recommend a full seven days even if they look good?

With antibiotics you should always treat the full prescribed duration even if the symptoms are gone, otherwise you risk missing some bacterial who then could come back with immunity to the antibiotic.

Here's a pic of my little brown. Pete got it from LA in 2013 I think. It was about 2" when I got it a year later. It's about 4" now. I don't feed often though.

Yes I just ran out of cipro :( never treat any nem for under 7 days! It's just like us stopping our antibiotics too early when we feel better and getting sick again and then the medicine we were taking won't work again because the bacteria became Immune to it :/

Here's a pic of him he never showed any signs of infection and has been eating a freshly caught squid from my offshore fishing trip the other day I've never gotten an infected nem to eat before and it's day 3 and he just ate again

Mine looks pretty much like the bottom picture. Just not used to seeing them so small.

So I'm clear, antibiotics for 7 days and continue to observe without for at least another 3?
