What is this

Hey all me again sorry.
So there's this long worm type think in my tank that hitched a ride and can seem to ever find it.
So this morning I see part of it sticking out a rock. It's a really fine line and I think it's red and white. Can 6pu see it in the picture?

It's just on top of the bottom coral head (not sure what coral it is)
First time I saw it it was pretty long

At the risk of being branded helpful, it looks like a bristle worm to me - a useful member of the tank's cleanup crew.

For future reference, here in the Lounge, we discuss everything BUT tank-related stuff. You might be better off reposting your question in Reef Discussion.

Now back to our regular nonsense. carrion.

No.

I'm not really sure what it is. Can you give us a bigger picture?

:D

Most worms are friendlies and good for the tank. Look up 'eunicid' and 'hermodice carunculata', aka fire worm ---the 2 that aren't.

Omg there's a fella on YouTube that found one of them worms when breaking his tank. 1.2m horrid things
Yes it's some kind of star very big also. Duno how it gets its self in those holes in the rock. I only say star because I saw one moving across the rocks.
No lie I actually dreamt of one of those centipede things last night

Yes, I've got a few in my DT that I'm going to get rid of today. Best to take it off and not burst the bubble in the water IMO, but I've heard it said that makes no difference in spreading them in your system. I just find that hard to believe.

For the love of god, dont pop it. I had a couple that lived on the side of a rock for months, when I decided to get rid of them, one popped. Now they are all over my tank.
