Just out of curiosity.. Which lighting are you currently running? Be specific.. Is it LEDs? MH? T5? Combination?

Please also list the brand and your thoughts.

I think it will be interesting to see what the nano crew is using.
 
I have a 27 gallon cube so im not sure if this is still considered nano or not but i use t5's on mine and they do grea. It is made by Deepblue called solar extreme. it has a built in timer as well and works great.
 
On my standard 29g tank I'm running 96 watts of ATI T5HO's.

I will be ordering LED's this month probably the reefbreeders controllable 120.
 
I have an RSM130D (34g) that I'm running ModularLED on and it works great. Was a bit of work to install but not enough to deter me from going that route again. In that tank I'm growing softies, LPS and several SPS frags are doing great. It's been just over a year with the ModularLED and I'm still very pleased with it.

I have a NanoCube12DX here in my office. ~5 years ago I converted it over to a DIY LED system (before you could buy kits etc.. it was all piece parts from around the world to say the least). I just recently replaced my DIY LED with a retrofit from StevesLED. I gotta say this was the easiest and most complete LED install for me to date. It literally took me longer to remove the splash shield than it did to install the retrofit LED from StevesLED.

I wrote a detailed review of it and if anyone wants a link just let me know. I can't cross-link from here so it will have to be in PM if you want the review.
 
34g Solana - Solina disco ball with phoenix 150w MH. Ballast is Coralife or Coralvue electric. I bought the tank used, so the ballast may or may not be stock. It probably is, though.

14g Biocube - Stock PCs, 50/50 and actinic. Coralvue I think. I will be switching to an LED retro from Rapid soon.

6g Edge - 2x m16 LED bulbs w/o lenses. 2 blue and 1 white on each. I'll probably be adding more LEDs or doing a 6 LED retro just to get better coverage.

1'ish gal bowl - gu10 bulb with standard socket base, 2 blue one white with 60* lenses.

All work well, but I prefer MH. A 250w Radium bulb on an m80 ballast is my favorite set up, but it's too intense for my solana. LEDs are being used for heat reasons on the other tanks, but work well. I just prefer the look of MH.
 
I am running a Current Sunpod 250w Metal halide fixture right now. It also has 6 (3 blue, 3 white) LED's. Friday I am picking up a 20inch Current Nova Extreme Pro and trying it out to see which one I like better, and which one my corals prefer.

My tank is a 34 gallon Solana.
 
My previous post is false. :lol2: Unfortunately the Powermodule doesn't look great above my tank (23inch fixture on a 20 inch wide tank), and there was too much light-spill into the room.

After a lot of deliberation, I'm going with a Gen 2 Radion.
