what size overflow needed for vortechs?

I'm returning to the hobby by setting up a small hex nano tank and wanted to use a vortech as my primary wavemaking device. The tank is acrylic and was never drilled for an overflow so I'm building one now. My only concern is how long do the overflow teeth have to be so that the vortech doesn't cause the water level to surge up/down and thus causing the water to drop below the overflow level? I hope this makes sense...

Because I don't want an interruption in the drain.

I agree that it shouldn't really matter, but then I don't mind sloshing, which is what you get with a wave.

I'm also beginning to think it's not possible to do what you want. Here's why...

The flow over the overflow will always be at the teeth's (?) lowest point, unless you are pushing so much water through it that the level rises significantly from the low point. This sounds dangerous to me because any blockage would quickly cause a flood.

You can however tune the wave with Vortecs, so if you get too much sloshing, just de-tune the wave until it's to your liking.

You don't need to worry about this as long as it is a drilled overflow. Mine goes under the teeth quite frequently with my 2 mp40ws.
