I have had this female A. Occelaris for almost 3 years now, and she is almost 4.5 years old... point being i cannot get her to spawn for anything. i pound them with food, they have a plethra of anemones, no tank changes, no harrasing fish... as of late the male she is with has been biting the rocks around the anemone like crazy, and shakin like crazy in front of her to get her excited..... but she wants no part of it.. and since he has been doing this she has been getting very aggerssive towards him, and pushing him around a lot more than usual. i am at the point where i think she will never breed for me. i had the idea of letting him become the female and getting him a small juvi. she is a A. Ocelaris, he is A. Percula, i know that doesnt matter but i was thinking about going with a pair of the percs i like the thicker black bars they have but i feel bad about getting rid of her...what to do? also what food do you feed to plump them up?(i feed mysis, pellets, cyclopeeze, bits of krill, silversides, squid, shrimp, formula 1 and 2).

Have you ever tried playing a little Barry White in the background?:D

How long has the male been displaying the mating behavior?

hes been doing this for a couple months now.. i tried the music , she apparently doesnt like it...lol

If it has only been a couple of months since he started and she is starting to get aggressive as of late, that is a good sign. It’s part of the courtship ritual.

I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of more months you will get up some morning to a little patch of yellow near their home.

A tank change may actually be beneficial. 3 of my long term pairs decided to finally get with the program within 6 weeks of moving to a new tank.

i actually switched up the rockwork the other day..oops, forgot to mention that..lol..... it was the same for over a year. and yes she has been very aggressive as of late.
