What to feed to brighten up?

What should I be feeding my clownfish? I've been feeding mine every other day with some Tetra Marine Flakes and Formula1 Marine Pellets and once a week I give some frozen mysis shrimp. However, my clown doesn't look nearly as orange as many of the ones I see here (Oscellaris btw). Any suggestions on trying some other foods?

frozen cyclopeze

Oh, I forgot to add I feed that maybe once a week too, but more for the corals then the fish.

Is that all you feed them? And you float it in selcon while it dethaws or anything?

I have a Sixline, 2 Osc Clowns and a Chromis. Would a single cyclopeeze block a day be enough for all of them? And if I fed this for a week do you think I'd see a difference in color and appearance?

Oh yea, I am thinking of getting a Yellow Watchman Goby, I assume these things go for a swim during feedings? You at all familiar with them (figure I'd ask in this thread before hassling the reef fish forum.)

no i feed it in small chunks directly to the tank no selcon

if you get it in the block a block a day might be too much

i get the bar and break off small chunks

i would also feed mysis soaked in selcon they also need meaty foods

and the key to good color is algae matter like spirulina flakes. or formula 2

I have formula 2 pellets and I've tried everything to get my clowns to eat it, but they don't. They just watch the stuff float to the bottom. I've even tried mixing it with formula 1 pellets and they seem to eat around the formula 2.

Cyclopeeze is probably the best choice for coloring up Clownfish. Some other good foods for coloring up Clownfish are the (small size) ORA glow/VibraGro and Spectrum pellets.

Apparently cyclopeeze isn't something I will ever find in the state of Maryland again. One of the LFS told me they aren't allowed to sell it statewide anymore. How long does this stuff last? I bought 2 bars of it 6months ago and never opened one of them.

if its in the freezer should be fine.

you can have it sent to you pretty easily but i doubt that they dont sell it in maryland its probobly just that your lfs wanted a story as to why they dont stock it.

What do you guys think of Cyclop-eeze Granules? They didn't go for them at all and pretty much only eat Mysis and Brine/Spirolina Brine Frozen foods.

you could still get it form foster & smith i feed it every day
twice a day but i also use the powderd cyclopeeze

I have tried most of the stuff listed above and so far, the New Life Spectrum works better than all of them. Even my herbivores are doing better eating it along with their macro.

Hey Raibaru. I spent the last 8 yrs in MD b4 I moved back home to NY. If you want, send me a PM and i'll tell you where to go to get cyclopeze. I doubt they can't sell it in MD.

My fish get cyclopeeze and New Life Spectrum. For color, cyclopeeze is the best. Frozen is better but mine only gets the dried stuff now that they are older. (more convenient for me) (They get other stuff but for color, hard to beat Cyclopeeze).
