What type of nem is this?

My lfs has this super hot pink nem. This thing literally glows even in the dark, it's not something I've seen before. I know it isn't dyed as he isn't that type and he is refusing to sell it until it splits....

Any ideas?

Why is everything super blue and then the clowns color is white balanced? I find that extremely odd actually.

Anyways it looks like a E. quadricolor, most likely a bleached red.

A heavily Photoshopped one...

Nope that is an actual pic from my iPhone and is exactly what it looks like in person.

There is no light above it, as you see the light above it is off . Only a halide and a reef brght strip is on and the halide is on the side of it.

I can take another pic when I go this week

Very interesting.

It very well could be dyed btw, your LFS guy may not know the difference and he may have gotten it from a bad supplier. I'm not saying that it is, just that I wouldn't trust a LFS when it comes to anemones because most of them don't know what they're talking about (IME of course).

For now I'm saying bleached E. quadricolor.

Pretty sure it's a "selective color filter" the sand has the same color below the nem. Also, the shadows won't alter when changing the light balance...

Possibly bleached, but I don't think so in my experience anyway. He's had it for quite a while now, so time will tell and it isn't going anywhere since he said it isn't for sale. He said an offer of $600 was made.

If anyone in the area wants to see it in person it's at The Fishstore in Port St Lucie, FL off of Bayshore Blvd.

Lol ok I'll take a video of it when I get some food on Tuesday.

Why would I photoshop or use a filter on a nem at an lfs that isn't even for sale... also it's a bare bottom frag tank.

Silliness

noob alert, its a common bleached bta

The fact there is white clearly shows it's bleached, no such thing as a healthy white host anemone.
It's obviously a bleached RBTA regardless what your LFS thinks or is telling you

Noob?? Ya 11 years in the hobby, I think not.

Pretty sure if it is a bleached bta, the guy wouldn't be holding on to it and in person you can tell it isn't bleached.

youre def a noob judging by majority of your posts, and judging by the corals surrounding the nem, mushrooms and chalices etc, it is bleached from not getting enough light.

Wonder what impression people would get of you, reading a few of your more recent posts.

OT, that does look like a BTA

The type of corals one keeps does not determine their skill level, plus anyways, the OP has said this is at his LFS and not his. No need to throw names around, let's keep it friendly, yeah?

A lot of people that have been in the hobby for many years often still do not know a lot about anemone's, and that even goes for LFS owners and employees.
