What type snail??

In my 3 pico, I have something I have not seen before. It appears to be a regular old snail, but the shell is very small compared to the "foot" or whatever it is you can see on the glass. I pulled it off the glass a couple of weeks ago and the shell and the "body" came totally apart. The "body" was wiggling away and it had 2 little "horns". The bottom of the shell had a small split and was not round in shape, like regular shells, but elongated. The shell was almost flat. I threw the shell and the body back in the tank, hoping it would live and find its shell and low and behold, it was on the tank again a couple of days ago. I do not have a pic of it, but hope someone can tell me what I have. TIA.

I have stomatellas, and another type that Barrett id for me.It looks like a stomatella but doesn't have antennas/feelers.They have multipled like crazy. My bangi cardinal eats them off the glass.

I read something today about stomatellas that said the are like a lizard and can lose part of their "tail" or whatever it is that a snail has. It regenetates and grows back. Amazing critters.
