what up rams

you bummed about the Apex lacking full control of the Radion? do you think it is coming soon? Heck its been several years already. :deadhorse1:

That is a downfall. I'm not a big fan of Ecotech's webbased interface, although it is getting better.

With Radions your always cool...

and with halides im consistant which is more important? This is 2 days with .2* swing

btw that was when i had my fan come on with my halides. I decided that i could afford a .5* swing instead of .2* to not hear my fan

Also I was always told the reefs are between 77 and 84 so why would 81 be worse than 76? Atleast my temp is in the natural range...

It is a good debate. I just don't want to worry about lighting fluctuating my temps anymore. I don't think anyone would disagree with 80º as long as you are not trying to grow deep water acros. lagoon softies I think you are just right.

I could dial the temp in a bit more. Right now I have the heater set to come on at 77 and go off at 78. I could set it to be 77 on and 77.2 off, but I didn't think a one degree swing made that much difference.

im sure you can all im getting at was no chiller, 500w mh and 72w led all 8" off the water and kept consistant. it can be done.

Radion fanboys will argue that you save tons of cash because the Radions cost less to run and no blub replacement for 25 years. But the upfront cost is steep and no one is going to keep these lights long enough for the light to pay for itself.

Buying used would be the way to go, unless you want the latest and greatest - which would also help advance the technology.
