What would make a chalice brown out?

Hey all you chalice experts out there. I have a question for you. What makes a chalice brown out? All of my parameters seem to be in check. Alk=8 to 9. I need to measure my phosphates. Calcium is 350. Magnesium is 1500. I have a newer My Miami frag that is very brown other then the huge orange eye. I also have a ECC Hybrid chalice that is a very light brown in small areas. So what do you think could be browning out my 2 chalices? All of my SPS look sweet. Thanks in advance.

what lighting do you have? Chalices dont need a lot of light (im guessing you have a lot of light if all your sps corals are doing great). Good Luck!

Thanks. My lighting is a Geismann fixture with two 250w Radiums and 4 54w Blue+ T5's. I am also going to add 12 Cree LED's to the fixture. So maybe to much light then?

Not sure what the deal is, but my new chalices almost always brown out or loose their colors when I introduce them. Seems to take mine a couple of months to get their color back. And I have a couple that suprisingly enjoy more light. So I would start them low, and move them up if they don't color up. I have several chalices around 1/2 way up my rockwork under 400 MH. They are not directly under the light getting blasted, but not on the bottom.... Good luck, those are nice chalices
