Wow I apologize here but mhurley I think you are taking this way off base.... we go from a moderator disagreeing with another members so called incorrect and uniformed opinion that doesn't make sense to insults. What I did was give a crazy opinion to a question posted by one of my best friends chuckie ie coralfragger101 as a off the wall explanation. What you did was insult someone. Thats a huge difference if your smiley face after your insult was meant as a mockery.

No, what you did was insult the people who run this website. You insulted both their management and their motivation.

What MHurley did was give you the exact same thing back - an insult and a deflection. But somehow you (and your best friend) got upset. Amazing how that show feels on the other foot...

Regardless of the consistency (which is 99.99% of the time perfect for me), thank you to RC, it's moderators, it's staff, and everyone else involved in making RC available. I'm willing to deal with 99.99% uptime for the internet's most beneficial Reef Aquarium board considering it's cost to the vast majority of it's members (free) and the benefit and education that it has brought me.

Even if you are correct (and I'm not saying that you are) - Two wrongs do not make a right.

Same as when one member insults another. If it gets reported at this point then only one person is in trouble.

Now when the person that gets offended ends up taking a stab at the instigator then BOTH people are in trouble because the second lowered themselves to the first person's standards.

So EVEN IF you are correct in your assumptions, it was still NOT RIGHT for mhurley to do as he did.

Is RC still working out some of the bugs? One of the problems that I am having is with the envelope icon to the left of the thread title. It will show a closed envelope even when there are new posts to the thread that I have not read. Is it just me or is that something that they are working on?

My sincerest apologies for my incorrect opinion. I do thank you for your honest opinion and I normally would have just chalked this up to the machine gaging the people for the underlying cause but you have clearly enlightened me and changed my views. Your correct I tried the show and it did't feel good.

Like if I ever get into a scrap and insult someone in the heat of battle then I should be able to just apologize (instead of getting warned, banned, etc.). And it can even be an apology with sarcasm inflicted into as well. This is great.

BTW: I am not denouncing all mods in any way. I also appreciate everything that they do for us. And most times they are spot on with their reprimands (to myself included); but hey, wrong is wrong.

I'm glad that I came late to this party. Chances are that in the heat of the moment, I'd have said something that would have given you guys a real reason to get your undies in a bunch.
