What's wrong with my clam?

I've had this crocea for ~6 mo. now, and has been doing great. Recently I noticed the shell growing new ridges on the inside of the existing one. Now the clam is barely opening. I had pinched mantle disease on my dersea about a year ago, but dipped it and now it's flourishing. What's the deal???

the shell growth is normal.

what fish do you have?
please list test results from every test kit you have.
have you made any changes to your system a few weeks before or since this has happened?

Sailfin,Blue Tang, 6-line, three chromis, two clowns and a cleaner shrimp.
Ca-400
alk- 10.5 dKH
Mg- >1500
PO4- 0
I've always doesed Randy's three part mix, but have been adding equal part Mg instead of 1/3. My Mg was always low, and you have to add so much to raise it, I thought I'd be OK. Could this be the problem? Everything else is doing great, even my dersea.
thanks for the relpy

Looks like the clam is not getting much light in it's current placement. Is that where it usually is? At least from the photo it looks like it's light is blocked by the cap, so I'm surprised it's grown as much as it has, especially under pc lights. You may want to put it up high on the rocks as close to the lights as possible.

It looked a little better last night, so I'll check it today and see. It is partially blocked by the cap, but it's still about 6" below the surface, directly under a bulb, which is only about 10" above the surface. I do have 330 watts of PC, which is pretty good, and my SPS are all thriving. The clam is attached to the rock it's on, and I don't know if cutting him off to move him will do more harm than good... I'll update later

I did have a light go out, (10K) and had to replace it with a 50/50, but it's also on the other side of the tank, not over the clam.

Should I:
1. water change
2. cut from rock and place higher(not many places to put him)
3. cut from rock and iodine dip(if pinched mantle or snails issue)

What do you guys think?

i would do a water change and add extra carbon. it doesnt look like PM

BTW iodine dips for PM are totally ineffective

treatment for PM is a fresh water dip I believe, for 30 min. As a last resort I would cut the clam off the rock IMO.
