Whats your favorite T5 actinic?

Hi all,

Going to put an ATI Blue Plus and one other bulb in my little brother's T5HO fixture to complement his new 150w MH. I'm dead set on the Blue Plus (probably my favorite single bulb), but I was wondering what you guys like for actinics?

I think a Giesemann Pure Actinic is pretty high on the list. As is a UVL SuperActinic.

What are your thoughts?

I like the Fiji purple and The Pure Actinic too. If you have the money I would go with the Fiji. I know my 39w Fiji was 28.99 on the net.hope this helped a lil.

for my 29 build, grim reefer recommended the giesemann pure actinic & actinic plus

check out reefgeek's graphs as they have color spectrums for pretty much all the bulbs (except the ati & fuji purple.....i looked all over the net for those color spectrum graphs before & couldn't find anything ANYWHERE)

I would go with the Gissman pure atc with that blue bulb you will have a larger spect. I may have one if you need it.

I really like the UVL SuperActinics that I'm running currently, but I'm not liking the pink wash out with this setup:

UVL Actinic White
UVL Aquasun
UVL Aquasun
UVL Actinic White
UVL SuperActinic
UVL SuperActinic

I think that's my setup currently, the actinics are in the back due to the way that the tank is currently wired. I think that replacing one of the Aquasuns with an Actinic white and splitting the actinics up would help alot. I need to rewire my end caps to new places.

Brandon, The Figi purple will really bring out the reds, Pinks, Orange and make them Pop like no other bulb I have tried. The Pure Actinic IMO Is a waste of money I would go with the Actinic Plus If you don't want to try the FP personally with only a two bulb selection you may opt for the brighter combo to get the most you can with only two bulbs. JMOT.

I have and it looked great Adrian. Like Bill said dont waste your money on the Pure Actinic. Like Bill and Zef both said the fiji purple is a great bulb. My fav also.

Yes I've tryed it and it was to blue for my tast. Try ati pro color with Fiji purple. I've seen 3 tanks like this and all the colors in there tank was popping.

If you guys haven't tried one, I HIGHLY recommend the ATI Blue Plus! Absolutely awesome blue actinic (as opposed to purple).
