When to pull clown eggs?

My ocellaris eggs should hatch Thursday night (day 7) so when do I pull the flower pot? Thursday afternoon or just before lights go out?

This will be my first try to raise any saltwater fish and I've got 2 ten gallon tanks of rotifers ready to go for their first food that I'm feeding Nanno 3600

It really doesnt matter too much - just anytime before hatch. I'd personally do it in the afternoon to give things a chance to settle before hatching occurs.

I wait untill 1 hour before the lights go out. Some of my ocellaris pairs eggs hatch on 7th night & some on the 8th.

keeping them if you can with the parents as long as you can if best. As long as they are not eating them. The more work they do less you have to. Good luck on the process and make sure to post the whole experience

Also note that sometimes when you pull the eggs it can cause them to delay hatching for up to a day or so. The warmer the temp the sooner they will hatch.

So this post brings me to another question..

If I pull the pot, aerate it, and the fry don't hatch that night, do I leave them in the rearing tank or put them back with the parents for the day, as long as there not affected by fungus?

When do I put the rotifers in the tank? Do I put them in and add some algae when I put the eggs in or is it better to wait until the morning that I see they have hatched? I'm using algae paste not live phyto.

Leave them in the rearing tank...I've had mine in for up to 3 days....the closer to hatch time the better though.

Make sure to use the water from your main tank...it doesn't take much to shock those little guys.

As soon as they hatch, add the rotifers. If you do it before then you may be adding waste that might be there a couple of days(until they hatch)

At night. I added a little led above the rearing tank...just a hunch that it encourages hatching....nothing to back that up, but it works for me.
