Where can oddball species be bought?

There are several species I do not see in the normal websites, marine depot or the Drs. I am looking for a Harlequin pipefish mainly. My books say florida but I havent found them here heheh. I just find various color forms of Gulfs.
There are also some pacific species I would like to find. Whiskered or Brocks. Any specialty collectors out there that can be found?

Which type are you looking for, the ghost? or do you have a specific one in mind?

Naw, wasnt looking for the ghosts this time. Like I said in the original post. Brock's or whiskered or oddball pipes like that. There used to be a source for Harlequin pipes here in FL but they went out of business errr.

IIRC, Halicampus brocki and Halicampus macrorhynchus are both Aussie fish (altho they also occur in Malyasia), and i can't imagine you finding them in the hobby here in the US. in fact, H. brocki is officially on the Oz protected species list.

as far as i know, these are both Pacific fish...i need to check Kuiter's book when i get home to be certain.

I dive here in FL, sometimes 300 days a year if the weather holds, I rarely see harlequin pipes, I have a pr, but I don't think in the 13 years I've been here I've seen 12 of them. they are usually found under coral heads which I don't like touching, and they are very cryptic, the last ones I saw by the time I got set up to catch them I could only find 1 of the pr. I don't know if it is normal, but I always see them in prs rather then by themselves.
