Where is the "Animal Cruelty" line crossed?

Listen, I’m not here to argue with you, don’t know why your going all ballistic.
You can change it around all you like, but you got to admit that in the context of the title of your thread, it is very hypocritical having the regale tangs, not mention the blue star (even most of the so called expert reefers can’t keep them alive for more than a year)
Now the pictures I did not hire a privet investigator, I simply clicked on the red house because that’s what your sign says, if there would be pics of your prom.... yes I would look at them, why not?:)
Look we are all guilty as soon as we think of having a glass/acrylic gage (no matter what size it is) we can never give these creatures what nature has to offer, I personally have been lucky with fish, but have killed a good amount of corals.
The pollution we cause, just running our tanks also contributes to the demise of corals and fish in the wild.
So in a way we are all guilty no matter how you look at it.
;)

Not going ballistic...just waiting for you to explain (because obviously i dont understand) how my tank wasn't suitable for tiny tangs, which, would get much bigger homes in time...

Don't worry..ill wait...

Id like to meet the people you consider "so called expert reefer"(s).. Stay away from PETCO ;)

The beautiful Blue Linckia sea star is perhaps the best known and most popular and sought after variety. They have rather poor rates of survival with aquarists. Most folks tend to do quite poorly with individuals of this species, exacerbated by sensitivities in shipping and handling. For best success, buy these creatures only on sight and after at least five days of acclimation (stabilization) to a dealer's tank. After that, it is advisable to stock them in mature aquaria with aged live rock and few other grazing fishes or deposit feeding invertebrates. A good rule of thumb is a maximum of one Linckia laevigata per 100 gallons

oops did he say 100gal?:D

aww..you got me!! 100 gal. for linkias..LOL!...PWWWWWLEASE!

..and just when i thought i was playing my cards right..LOL

A linkia can live as happy in a 50 gal. tank than a 100 gal. Ive seen it, ive done it.. People i know do it... I can have them chime in if you wish..

Rule of thumb..perhaps you should google where the term "rule of thumb" came from.. This forum is too family oriented for me to post how i feel about " rules of thumb"..

Whats next..watts per gallon??..LOL

Still waiting.. Why wasn't my tank suitable for the small tangs?.. Please don't leave me in ignorance..

Ai ai ai you’re still going at it?

The argument about the tang’s, is like me saying I’m gona lock up my kids in a room and when they can’t take it anymore, I will just give them away.
If you are the responsible reefer that insinuates to be, when you did your research, you would find that most tangs/surgeons carry ick for their entire life span, this may stay dormant, but stress can cause an outbreak.
If you have them in your tank, then catch them and move them to someone else’s tank, this can stress out the fish and case a outbreak of the ick, if things go wrong the fish will die.
No big deal, many people do this, but again with the title of your thread, a responsible reefer would not put these fish or starfish on a tank like that in the fist place.
But hey, you insist that you’re right, so here is a lollypop you win the argument.
It’s my bed time now, go entertain your tangs, I got a feeling they feel lonely in all that empty space
Have a nice night, no heart feelings:)
