Where to buy $alt?

I am just starting out, and was wondering where everybody gets the best prices on buckets of salt?

Go to www.petsmart.com & copy their online price. Then take that to Petsmart for a cheap bucket of salt. Keep an eye out for the sales at www.drsfostersmith.com. I just got a bucket for <$30. Shipping was like $10, but I got a bunch of other stuff too.

Thanks, that is the old trick but I honestly did not think they would carry saltwater stuff. I rarely go there lately.

I hear people say to stay away from "Red Sea" brand. I am starting up a fish W/Live rock and sand, (actually a Live rock and sand with some fish) some inverts and easy things. This is my first saltwater. Is there a salt brand that is better suited for that kind of setup?

Steverino, Not sure what brand you want, but Instant Ocean is at Petsmart and you definitely can get the online price in their store!

And YES, they do honor the online price as long as you print it and bring it with you to the store.

Im using instant ocean, but as soon as i run out i will try reef crystals(same company). I believe most people use instant ocean, reef crystals, tropic marin and tropic marin pro. Someone correct me if im wrong

IO is fine for FO. The others (more $$$) are better for reefs. I like IO's reef salt, which is Reef Crystals. That, I get from Drs Foster & Smith.
