Which blenny is more likely to be eating my sps?

Gives Bad Advice.
I've started to starve the tank because I was thinking that my strawberry crab has been eating my sps and I'm trying to trap him. But the more I think about it, I may as well catch my blennies too.

The last few nights the damage has been out of control. Lots of new growth tips have been completely eaten off.

Could this be my lawnmower or Midas? I'm thinking lawnmower since I don't have much algae.

What do you think?

I put my money on the LMB. Mines started nipping and eating my corals. It stopped once I started putting Nori in the tank daily.

I caught the lawnmower this morning. He was easiest. Let's see if the damage stops.

Yea. My logic is it has to be an algae eater. My tank is pretty algae poor.

My only concern with it being a fish is that I've been having small nubs completely removed from sps. I'm not sure a blenny would be capable of this unless he just sat the and chewed it down. That's why I thought it was the crab.

But I do see my lm blenny camping near sps when I walk in on him. I've just never caught him doing it.

The Blenny is lacking enough algae in its diet, hence why its eating your corals. Same thing happens with tangs if they don't have enough algae.

Well, he's in my fish trap being held. What's the conversation here? Nori? Spiralina?

Do I not re-release him?

You will have to change diet and hope for the best. Anything algae based is a good start. Hard to tell what it will and won't eat

Doesn't look like I had any additional damage tonight. So, we'll see in the morning. Blenny is still in his cell.

That's funny you mention this. I've seen on two occasions where my Midas blenny would remove and drop some pretty decent sized and weighted frags that were by his hole. He would grab them by his tiny little freaking mouth and move them. One was a ric rock that for sure is way heavier than it was, moved and dropped it away from his hole. The other is a 2.5" stag horn frag glued to a huge disc that he moved. Right in front of my eyes!!!

My money is perhaps the Midas is messing with stuff. Are the sps colonies glued in?

Yes. They are glued down. But it's not just ones by his hole. It's frags almost all the way across a 5ft tank.
