I am looking at add another butterflyfish to my aquarium to go with my longnose butterflyfish. My choices for consideration are:

Dot and Dash - Chaetodon pelewensis

Punctato - Chaetodon punctatofasciatus

Auriga - Chaetodon auriga

Vagabond - Chaetodon vagabundus

Klein's- Chaetodon kleinii ( have always heards fairly reef safe, but not the prettiest fish)

My criteria would be the most hearty (feeding habits and disease resistant), least likely to eat corrals, and community friendly fish? I understand that they all can have a propensity to eat corrals, but given that, I am looking for the ones least likely too. Looking for what the researchs notes and first hand experiences please.

Please rate the fish if you are able to so that I can make an informaed desicsion. Tank size will be a 75 gallon.

The only one i've had first hand experience with is the Klein and it went after SPS and LPS. I think they are the most likely reef safe on that list. IMO,and some will disagree, butterfly fish for the most part don't do well in reefs. I would love to have some but i'm not willing to see my corals destroyed.

I would skip out on all of those and make the 20 minute drive to Aquariums Wholesale and get a copperband. He has a couple that are eating frozen food and Copperbands are known to be just about the most reef safe Butterfly you can get. I know tons of people who have them with zero consequences... Yes, they may be a little less hardy then some Butterflies but that's why you get one that you see is doing good. I think they usually run around $30-$35 bucks there.

+1 I wouldn't trust any of those in a reef
Depending on your budget you could try this:
