which of these can live in my 2.5g

I don't think a Neon Goby would be happy in 2.5g. In larger tanks they are energetic swimmers, using a lot of the open space available to them. Although small, I think you would be suppressing their natural behavior. For any fish to work in a pico I think it would have to be small and a "sitter" like a tiny yellow flow goby as previously suggested. Never had one, but the barnacle Benny looks possible on paper

Anyone remember the Bonsai Kitten sensation in the earlier days of the web? Maybe you could get a small Sweet Lips or Coral Hind in a 2.5g pico & you'd have a bonsai grouper. Or a new kind of Boxfish.

Provided you could keep your water quality on par a nice little velvet coral croucher would work perfectly. These fish stay under two inches and do very little moving other than to feed or breed. That said, it would not fit your need for a fish that leaves the rocks.

Your best bet is to order what you want. Place a small order with live aquaria. Look at the 35 dollar shipping as an insurance policy on the fish and inverts. You know with live aquaria you have a two week guarantee and that they will stand behind what you say.

A redheaded goby might work. I had 2 in a 38 & loved them. Cute, curious, and definitely a percher. They would even perch on the glass to watch me.

oh yeah, I love those gumdrop coral crouchers!!!
so fat! for some reason, I really like fat fish...are they even capabe of swimmin? looks more like a waddler to me:)
the whole venemous spines thing kinda makes me wary though...
The problem with online purchases is the added shipping cost brings the prices up to around $60, and that's too much for me!

The coral crouchers are nice little fish and definitely have a turn of speed when food hits the water. The only issue i've had with them again is that they prefer to be secretive. I wouldn't worry about the venenous spines. Its a defense and they won't be attacking you!
